Zelensky says Ukraine expects new EU funding from Brussels

The Ukrainian authorities expect “good financial news” from Brussels in the coming days.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in his evening address published on the YouTube channel of the Office of the President, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.

“I thank the European Commission today — the European Union — for preparing a decision on the next tranche of financial support. Last week, we received €3.3 billion for weapons, and in the coming days, we expect more good financial news from Brussels — specifically, budget support, another tranche… This is still part of the figures agreed upon in advance,” he said.

The President recalled that on Tuesday, September 29, he spoke with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Odile Renaud-Basso.

The bank works extensively with Ukraine and supports the country’s energy sector and the protection of critical infrastructure, Zelensky said.

He discussed with Renaud-Basso the challenges ahead of winter, Ukraine’s needs, and what could be strengthened in their cooperation to provide greater protection for people.

“Another area of our joint work is supporting our exports and our producers, including farmers and agricultural producers. We agreed to expand this area,” Zelensky said.

As reported, Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi discussed Ukraine’s financial needs for 2026–2027 with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Odile Renaud-Basso and the bank’s management.
