Laura Loomer condemns Russian strike after visit to Kyiv Cathedral
Blogger Laura Loomer, a member of U.S. President Donald Trump’s inner circle, visited the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and saw the aftermath of the Russian strike on the Assumption Cathedral.
She posted a video of her visit on the social media platform X, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.
“Putin droned Jesus Christ. The Woke Reich and Russia don’t want you to see this video…,” Loomer wrote beneath the video.
The Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve provided details about Loomer's visit.
At the Lavra, the blogger was greeted by Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture Tetiana Berezhna, First Deputy Head of the Office of the President Serhii Kyslytsia, and Director General of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve Maksym Ostapenko.
“Laura Loomer was shown Ivan Kushchnyk’s Tower, the Art Arsenal building, and the Assumption Cathedral, all of which were damaged as a result of the Russian attack on June 15. She learned about the work carried out to save the cathedral, viewed a panel exhibition on the history of its destruction and restoration, and visited the Refectory Church and the observation deck. At the exhibition “The Reborn Universe,” guests were also shown restored relics from the National Reserve’s permanent collection,” the reserve noted.
It is noted that such visits help demonstrate to a foreign audience the true scale of Russian crimes against Ukrainian cultural heritage and counter disinformation, information warfare, and propaganda.
As reported, blogger Laura Loomer, a member of U.S. President Donald Trump’s inner circle, arrived in Ukraine on July 22. She admitted that she had been influenced by Russian propaganda.
On the grounds of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, 19 cultural heritage sites were damaged as a result of a massive Russian attack on June 15. The Assumption Cathedral and the Kushnyk Tower sustained the most damage.
