Tel Aviv Airport evacuated after toxic smoke alert

Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, considered the main airport of Israel, was evacuated after smoke was emitted from a substance ordered via cargo shipment.

According to a report by the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, investigations showed that the smoke coming from the substance was toxic, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

Israel Fire and Rescue Services stated that a hazardous material alert was issued at Ben Gurion Airport after smoke was detected coming from a package delivered by cargo, leading to the evacuation of the airport.

Following examinations to determine the nature of the substance, it was reported that even without physical contact, the material is extremely toxic and can cause serious harm if inhaled.

It was also reported that the package had been ordered from abroad by a company in Israel, and after the incident, the substance inside was placed in a sealed container and transported to a secure location.
