The wife of Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, Alessia Elefante, has testified in a Paris court about the terrifying moments she and her husband experienced during a violent robbery at their apartment in 2023.

According to British media reports, Elefante told the court that she was pregnant at the time of the attack and that, despite informing the robbers of her pregnancy, they continued to physically assault her, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

The couple were surprised in their sleep after the robbers broke into their apartment on Avenue Montaigne. Elefante handed the attackers a Cartier watch, other valuables and around €2,000 in cash, but the situation escalated when they demanded the combination to the couple’s safe.

“They thought I was lying. They pulled me by the hair and one of them hit me on the thigh. I told them I was pregnant, but they continued,” she testified.

The robbers later took luxury goods, handbags, valuable watches and the keys to two cars. Lawyers representing the couple said Donnarumma and his wife continue to suffer psychologically as a result of the attack.

Several defendants are standing trial, including people suspected of organizing the robbery and their alleged accomplices. Two minors involved in the case had previously been sentenced to prison by a juvenile court.

Donnarumma, the former AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper, now plays for Manchester City.
