Sandra Bullock reflects on life after 2010 marriage scandal
Sandra Bullock is reflecting on the period that followed the 2010 cheating scandal involving her former husband, Jesse James.
The actress spoke to her longtime colleague and friend Jennifer Aniston during an interview for Interview Magazine, describing how she tried to overcome the pain and deal with the end of her marriage.
She explained that filming “Gravity” with George Clooney in 2011 was particularly meaningful because her role as an astronaut stranded in space mirrored her own situation in life, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
At the time of her highly publicized separation, the Hollywood star was raising her son, Louis, whom she had adopted in late 2009, although the adoption had not yet been made public.
Bullock and James married in July 2005 after dating for about a year. Following their separation five years later, James entered a treatment facility. At the time, he publicly apologized for his actions, although he later addressed the scandal again in a 2017 interview with the Daily Mail, where he appeared to downplay the affair.
“Yes, I cheated on my wife, yes, I stood up and took responsibility for it and apologized,” James said at the time. “And that’s it. … It’s part of life.”
Bullock, meanwhile, has largely chosen to remain silent about the scandal over the years.
