Slovenian football star silences doubters with decisive goals for Manchester United

When 22-year-old Benjamin Šeško completed his move to Manchester United from Leipzig in August last year, expectations were high, but many doubted whether the high transfer price was justified.

But the Slovenian has now started delivering, scoring key goals in the Premier League and earning growing admiration from fans, CE Report quotes The Slovenia Times.

Šeško's first months at Old Trafford were a mix of sporadic starts and substitute appearances, and it took time for his impact to translate into consistent goals. However, as the season has unfolded, and especially since the arrival of new coach Michael Carrick in January, he has begun to find his footing.

His recent run of six goals in seven appearances has caught the attention of pundits and fans alike. In the 23 February fixture against Everton, he came from the bench to score the decisive goal with a sprint of nearly eighty metres that made waves on social media.

And on 1 March, he played the role of match winner again against Crystal Palace, having been given his first start under coach Carrick after he had become entrenched as a "super-sub", a substitute player who comes from the bench to deliver but is not on the starting roster.

That shift is reflected not just in headlines but in recognition among fans. Now only was he voted Manchester United's Player of the Month, he got his own fan chants and British tabloids have started creating word plays with his name, such as "Sesk appeal" (from sex appeal) and "Way to 'sko," a play on the phrase way to score.
