Romanian Runner Meringor Banned for Doping

Kenyan-born Romanian long-distance runner Delvine Relin Meringor has been handed a three-year doping ban, according to Kenya’s Anti-Doping Agency, CE Report quotes Agerpres

Meringor tested positive in five out-of-competition tests between October 2022 and August 2023. She admitted to using a banned substance, accepting a suspension from January 11, 2025, to January 10, 2028.

All her results since October 7, 2022, have been annulled, including her 7th-place marathon finish at the 2024 Paris Olympics and a 4th place at the 2023 European Cross Country Championships.
