Barcelona close to signing goalkeeper worth €3 million
Barcelona are planning a busy end to the summer transfer window as the Catalan club works to strengthen several positions in the squad.
According to Spanish media reports, Barcelona have identified Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livaković as one of their main targets for the future and have already submitted an offer to Turkish club Fenerbahçe, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
Barcelona are reportedly offering around €3 million for the services of the 31-year-old goalkeeper. Fenerbahçe is said to be open to considering the offer positively, as Livaković is no longer one of the club’s first-choice options.
Barcelona’s plan is reportedly to loan the Croatian goalkeeper for the 2026/27 season if an agreement is reached, before bringing him to the club permanently next summer.
Livaković is expected to serve as a backup to Joan García, while Barcelona are also planning for the future of their goalkeeping department amid expectations that Wojciech Szczęsny will retire at the end of the 2026/27 season.
However, a deal for Livaković is not yet certain. Barcelona would reportedly complete the transfer only if the club manages to create enough financial room.
The club’s main priority remains signing a new forward, while Barcelona could also look to strengthen at centre-back.
For this reason, Livaković is currently viewed more as a market opportunity than an immediate priority for Barcelona.
