Former world chess champions Veselin Topalov and Garry Kasparov will face off in an exhibition match in St. Louis, USA, said the Bulgarian player’s manager, Silvio Danailov, as quoted by publika.bg. The match will begin on September 11, and over the course of three days, the two will play 12 games of Chess960, also known as Fischer Random Chess.

Topalov and Kasparov will play four games per day - two in rapid chess (25 minutes plus 10 seconds per move) and two in blitz (5 minutes plus 2 seconds per move), CE Report quotes BTA.

The last game of Kasparov, who currently uses a Croatian passport, was against Topalov at the Linares tournament in 2005. The Bulgarian won that match, although Kasparov, who was competing for Russia at the time, took first place overall. In 2018, the two met in another exhibition match in St. Louis, where Topalov prevailed with a score of 14.5 to 11.5.
