Moldova, EU hold high-level social policy dialogue

The second High-Level Dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union on policies in the fields of labour, skills, education, social protection and children’s rights is taking place today in Brussels.

The Republic of Moldova is represented by Minister of Labour and Social Protection Natalia Plugaru and Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun.

The officials are holding talks with representatives of European institutions on progress achieved by Moldova as well as ongoing challenges in the sectors of employment, social protection and education, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

According to Natalia Plugaru, discussions focused on reforms that directly impact citizens’ lives, including education, employment, social inclusion and equal opportunities.

“Today in Brussels, we participated in the second High-Level Dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union on Education, Skills, Employment and Social Affairs. Together with Dan Perciun, we discussed with Roxana Mînzatu, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Social Rights and Skills, Quality Jobs and Preparedness, the results and challenges we face,” Plugaru said.

She added that Moldova presented progress in aligning labour and social protection policies with European standards, as the country continues its path toward EU accession.

The European Union was represented by senior officials responsible for social rights and skills development, with discussions focusing on reform implementation and institutional strengthening.

Authorities said the dialogue is an important milestone for Moldova, supporting reforms in education and social policy, strengthening the labour market and social protection system, and aligning national policies with EU standards as the country advances on its European integration path.
