US Senators Demand Probe into Trump’s Tesla Endorsement at White House

Politics

A group of US Senators is calling for an investigation into former President Donald Trump’s White House event with Elon Musk, where he promoted Tesla, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

In a letter to the Acting Director of the US Office of Government Ethics (OGE), Senators Elizabeth Warren, Adam Schiff, Cory Booker, and Richard Blumenthal condemned what they described as an "apparent violation" of federal ethics laws.

Trump, speaking alongside Musk, praised Tesla while considering a purchase, declaring, "It’s a great product." The lawmakers criticized the event, saying the White House was effectively turned into "a temporary Tesla showroom."

They argue that Musk, who leads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), appeared to use his government position to promote Tesla, implying official endorsement by the Trump administration.

The senators urged OGE to take action, emphasizing the importance of enforcing ethics laws.
