Moldova

The Taraclia branch of Angel Kanchev University of Ruse, Bulgaria, has officially opened in Moldova, becoming the first Bulgarian higher education institution established outside the country. The agreement was signed by the education ministers of Moldova and Bulgaria, Dan Perciun and Krasimir Valchev, in the presence of Prime Ministers Dorin Recean and Rossen Jeliazkov, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

The new branch will offer seven specializations, including teaching, Bulgarian language and history, business, informatics, and agricultural technology. Courses will be conducted in Bulgarian, Romanian, and English. Students will receive European-recognized diplomas and a monthly scholarship of approximately 2,400 lei.

“This is a major step forward not only for Taraclia but for the entire southern region,” said PM Recean, encouraging students from Moldova and neighboring Ukrainian districts to apply.

The university is expected to enhance the region’s socio-cultural life and contribute to the internationalization of higher education in Moldova. Recean also welcomed Bulgaria’s support in publishing 1,000 books on Bulgarian language and history, calling it “an investment in our European future.”

This year, Angel Kanchev University of Ruse celebrates its 80th anniversary.
