Grosu Supports Youth in Public Service

Moldova

Speaker Igor Grosu met with over 100 young people currently interning in Moldovan public institutions as part of a paid internship program running from June to November 2025. Participants are working in the Parliament Secretariat, State Chancellery, Presidential Administration, ministries, and other state bodies, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Around half of the interns are Moldovan students studying abroad. Grosu praised their engagement and said efforts are underway to better align the program with academic calendars and make it more appealing.

He encouraged interns to gain insight into public service operations and share their experiences to help expand the initiative.

Since its launch, 268 young people have participated in the program, with some moving on to public sector jobs. A 2023 law institutionalized paid internships, aiming to support youth employment. Recent legislative changes raised monthly intern scholarships to 3,500 lei and increased mentor allowances.
