In Bucharest, Moldovan Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin met with Romanian acting Prime Minister and Interior Minister Cătălin Predoiu to discuss optimizing coordinated control at the Moldovan-Romanian border. The talks also advanced bilateral agreements aimed at easing cross-border movement for families, workers, and students, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Misail-Nichitin welcomed Romania’s recent accession to the Schengen area, highlighting its importance for regional security and connectivity. The agenda also addressed combating hybrid threats and misinformation.

The two officials emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation through shared experience and joint response mechanisms.

During her visit, Misail-Nichitin also met with Senator Nicoleta Pauliuc to discuss boosting legislative and institutional cooperation, promoting security culture, and increasing women’s roles in decision-making.

The Moldovan minister is on an official visit to Romania’s capital today.
