Moldova to host 2027 World Cadet Judo Championships

The World Cadet Judo Championships will be hosted by the Republic of Moldova for the first time in 2027, bringing together young athletes from around the world.

The event marks a new stage in the development of domestic judo and in promoting the country on the international sports stage, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

The hosting agreement was signed in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, between the President of the International Judo Federation, Marius Vizer, and the President of the Judo Federation of the Republic of Moldova, Andrei Golban. The document confirms the international body’s confidence in Moldova’s ability to organize large-scale competitions.

The Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova welcomed the country’s designation as host of the World Championship and reaffirmed its institutional support for the successful organization of the event.

In 2024, the Republic of Moldova hosted for the first time the European U-23 Judo Championships, which brought together more than 300 athletes from 37 countries in Chișinău. The event took place at Arena Chișinău and demonstrated the organizational capacity of the authorities and the Judo Federation of the Republic of Moldova to manage major competitions.
