Giro d’Italia team presentation set for Bulgaria's Burgas

The official presentation ceremony for the teams in the 109th Giro d'Italia cycling competition will take place on May 6 at the Summer Theatre in Burgas, Bulgaria, and will be broadcast live on Eurosport 1 to an audience of millions around the world, Burgas Municipality said.

The official programme will include a presentation of all teams and cyclists, accompanied by performances of the Strandja Professional Folk Ensemble, the Deja Vu trio, and demonstrations by local acrobatic clubs. Before the ceremony begins, the Goresht Pyasak band will entertain the crowd in front of the Summer Theatre, CE Report quotes BTA.

Admission to the event is free of charge, but to ensure better organization, the Municipality advises guests to obtain tickets in advance. Tickets are available at the Tourist Information Centre near the City Clock and online at gotoburgas.com. Each visitor may receive up to two, as they will be required for children over 2 years of age as well. On the day of the event, tickets will also be distributed at the Summer Theatre box office, and visitors must take their seats by 5:30 p.m. at the latest.

City officials added that due to the ceremony on May 6, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., the street between Demokratsia Blvd. and Veliko Tarnovo Street will be closed to traffic.

On May 8, Burgas will host the finish of the first stage, which starts in Nessebar, and on May 9, the city will host the start of the second stage heading toward Veliko Tarnovo.

In early April, BTA launched its new section Giro d’Italia 2026: CYCLING IN BULGARIA, dedicated to Bulgaria’s hosting of three stages of the cycling race, which will pass through Bulgaria from May 8 to 10, 2026.
