Italian woman fears prison after Egypt adultery conviction
“I have been sentenced to six months in prison in Egypt. We did not expect this news, and I am shocked. I am afraid of losing my child. I am afraid of ending up in prison in Egypt. I no longer know how to ask for help,” said Nessy Guerra through tears in a video on Instagram.
The woman was convicted on appeal for “adultery,” CE Report quotes ANSA.
“We have made hundreds of appeals, but no one is listening to us. The only thing I tried to do was escape from that man with my child and protect her. I truly hope that those responsible—the Italian government and institutions—will reflect and help us, because we can no longer go on in this situation,” which “is becoming unbearable.”
