Italy suspends defense agreement renewal with Israel
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced on Tuesday that her government has decided to suspend the automatic renewal of the defense agreement between Italy and Israel, in light of the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, according to Reuters, AFP, and Ansa, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.
“Given the current situation, the government has decided to suspend the automatic renewal of the defense agreement with Israel,” Meloni told reporters during a visit to Verona, in northern Italy.
The defense agreement between the two countries provides for the exchange of military equipment and technological research.
