Romanian Defence Ministry reveals details of F-16 interception - EXCLUSIVE
As you know, the Romanian Air Force’s F-16 fighter jets successfully intercepted and neutralized two airborne targets exhibiting characteristics of attack drones over Romania's territorial waters in the Black Sea. Investigations into the exact technical specifications, origin, and recovery of the wreckage are currently being conducted by specialized forensic and technical teams.
This was said by the source at the Ministry of National Defence of Romania in an exclusive statement with CE Report.
The Ministry noted that the interception mission was executed under national air-defense procedures in close operational communication with the Combined Air Operations Centre (CAOC) in Torrejón, and in full alignment with NATO peacetime protocols.
Furthermore, the source added, Romania is actively enhancing regional cooperation with allied and partner nations to boost the level of vigilance, situational awareness, and collective defense across the Black Sea area.
"Romania takes permanent steps to further reinforce its air-surveillance, radar monitoring, and air-defense readiness to secure national and allied borders, without disclosing classified tactical details," the Ministry concludes.
