KFOR Commander Meets Italian Ambassador in Pristina
The Commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Major General Enrico Barduani, received today the Ambassador of Italy to Kosovo, Maurizio Antonini, at the KFOR headquarters, at Camp Film City in Pristina, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
The announcement states that they discussed views on the security situation throughout Kosovo and regional stability and KFOR's efforts in support of the EU-facilitated dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade, which KFOR KOM sought to continue in a renewed and determined spirit.
"General Barduani also shared with Ambassador Antonini his pride in Italy's many years of contributions to KFOR. Since 1999, Italy's largest contingent in KFOR has been a key symbol of Italy's commitment to international security and stability in Kosovo," the announcement states.
KFOR continues to implement its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times, and KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
