Kosovo basketball clubs make major roster changes ahead of new season

The summer transfer window for domestic basketball players closed on August 28, following a period of significant activity across Kosovo’s basketball leagues.

During the transfer window, moves were made in Kosovo’s ProCredit Superliga, Women’s Superliga, First League and Second League, while the country’s top-flight clubs made important additions ahead of the new season, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Peja made several additions, signing Dwight Allen Wilson III, Alexander Johnson, Allen Smith, Ray Moore, Altin Morina, Jetmir Zeqiri, Dion Haxhosaj, Daniel Lekndreaj and Orges Shatri. Dalan Ancrum was also registered but will play only in the FIBA Europe Cup.

Sigal Prishtina strengthened its roster with Malcom Armstead, Norik Binqe, Elton Krasniqi, Edmond Azemi, Dion Sheqiri, Bardh Istrefi and Oltion Shatri as it looks to build a competitive team for the new season.

Bashkimi made seven moves during the transfer window, bringing in Markeis Johnson, Robert Thomas, Ramone Bailey, Louis Clavell Lopez, Divine Myles, Arian Azemi and Valmir Kakruki.

Kosovo champions Trepça made four additions during the period, signing Bracy Davis, Arian Qallaku, Ron Dahsyla and Warren Mobley.

Vëllaznimi was among the most active clubs, signing Meriton Ismajli, Eden Cingu, Adhurim Alijaj, Fatlind Shoshaj, Ardian Ibishi, Arbin Rushiti and Mal Syle.

Bora strengthened its squad with Fisnik Rugova, Jericole Hellems, Jon Ismajli, Muhmamedali Janjeva, Yll Pllana, Unik Ahmeti and Hanan Corovic.

Rahoveci 029 made eight additions, bringing Edmond Kryeziu, Shendrit Llapi, Anes Gashi, Albion Imeri, Samir Zekiqi, Kareem Rozier, Sydney Hammond and Zion Fruster into the squad.

Golden Eagle Ylli made four moves, signing Musab Mala, Ambri Bedra, Drilon Shala and Noa Istrefi.

The summer transfer window brought numerous changes to Kosovo’s basketball rosters, with clubs now turning their attention to preparations for the new season and the objectives they have set ahead of the start of the championship.
