Europe sends satellite to measure global biomass
The European Space Agency (ESA) has launched the BIOMASS satellite.
For the first time in history, it will accurately measure the amount of biomass in the world's forests over the coming years, CE Report quotes FENA.
This data is crucial for understanding climate change, as forests store vast amounts of carbon dioxide.
They also release it when destroyed, whether through logging or fires, according to a statement from the City of Vienna Office in Sarajevo.
