Shakira to perform free concert on Copacabana Beach
Colombian pop star Shakira will headline a major free concert on May 2 on Copacabana Beach, an iconic location in Rio de Janeiro, as part of the “Todo Mundo no Rio” project.
According to the news website G1, the event aims to replicate the success of recent shows by international stars and could attract more than two million spectators, with estimates reaching up to 2.5 million, CE Report quotes ANSA.
The stage—one of the largest ever set up on the famous beach—will include a 25-meter catwalk and hundreds of square meters of giant screens.
The setlist will feature the artist’s biggest hits, from Hips Don't Lie to La Tortura, along with newer tracks from her tour Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (“Women No Longer Cry” in English).
No guest performers have been officially announced, but anticipation is growing for a possible appearance by Anitta, one of Brazil’s most globally influential pop stars.
