Ryan Gosling’s band Dead Man’s Bones to release new music
Dead Man’s Bones, the indie rock duo featuring Canadian actor Ryan Gosling, is set to release new music 17 years after the launch of its only studio album, DPA reported.
The band’s new material is scheduled for release on Tuesday, October 27, according to a video shared on Instagram by actress Eva Mendes, Gosling’s longtime partner, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.
“He kept his promise to me,” the 52-year-old actress wrote alongside the short video.
Dead Man’s Bones, consisting of Gosling, 45, and musician Zach Shields, released its self-titled debut album in 2009 through the record label Anti-Records.
The album, described as “spooky” by music publication Pitchfork, prominently featured a children’s choir from Los Angeles.
According to Anti-Records, the project was originally conceived as the soundtrack for a theatrical production centered on a love story between a monster and a ghost.
Gosling’s musical career beyond acting
Gosling has demonstrated his musical abilities on several occasions throughout his acting career.
One of his most memorable performances came at the 2024 Academy Awards, when he performed I’m Just Ken, a song from the blockbuster film Barbie.
The Canadian actor, who began his entertainment career on Disney Channel’s The All New Mickey Mouse Club, also performed City of Stars alongside Emma Stone in the 2016 musical La La Land.
The song went on to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2017.
The upcoming release marks Dead Man’s Bones’ return to music after nearly two decades without a new album.
