During the 2024-2025 cold season, citizens will receive financial aid ranging from 300 to 800 lei to help cover energy costs. This decision was approved today as part of the regulation on energy compensations, the government's communication department announced, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

The compensation, applicable from November 2024 to March 2025, will be provided solely in monetary form. Beneficiaries can receive the funds either via a card transfer or by collecting them at the post office.

The government also established rules for energy cost norms during the winter months and set the minimum household expenses based on family composition and the type of energy used for heating. Importantly, the compensation amount will be calculated individually for each household without considering previous energy consumption. Instead, it will adhere strictly to the approved energy cost norm.

Additionally, the budget allocation for compensations has been increased by 111 million lei. Prime Minister Dorin Recean emphasized the government's commitment to supporting citizens amid rising natural gas prices. “We are providing necessary support to help our citizens. Today, we’ve introduced the first adjustment to expand this assistance,” he stated.

To receive the compensation, all household consumers must submit an application, even if they applied last year. Applications can be submitted online via the platform compensatii.gov.md or with the assistance of registrars. Applications will be accepted throughout the cold season until the 25th of each month. Compensation will be granted starting from the month in which the application is submitted.
