The 2024-2025 Albanian football season marked another historic moment in its development by recording a record number of registered players.

The Albanian Football Federation stated that compared to last season, 2,900 new players have been added this season, bringing the total number of licensed players to 23,374, of whom 21,647 are boys and 1,729 are girls, CE Report quotes ATA.

During this season, 26 national championships were organized across all age groups, including 22 for boys and 4 for girls, with a total participation of 319 teams, of which 284 are boys’ teams and 35 are girls’ teams.

A total of 2,783 official matches were played, involving 85 delegates and 58 observers. Throughout this edition, 330 referees officiated across all championships.

For the fourth consecutive season, the VAR system was applied in all matches of the “Abissnet Superiore” championship, being used in 185 matches. Additionally, this system was used in 33 matches of the First Division, which accounts for about 30% of the total matches in that championship.
