Turkish charity flag torn during iftar in Kosovo
A charity organization from Türkiye, which provides free iftar meals to citizens of Kosovo's Mitrovica during the month of Ramadan, had the national flag of Türkiye torn at the tent where the evening meal is served to those fasting and others in Adem Jashari Square.
The incident occurred on Thursday, but it was not the first time, as a similar act had reportedly happened a few days earlier, according to a source, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
The head of the organization providing the iftar did not report the first incident to the police, but did so after the second one. He said that the tearing of the Turkish flag creates insecurity for him and his staff. He also stated that if proper security is not provided, he may have to suspend the iftar service for the citizens of Mitrovica.
The case is now being investigated as a serious crime, and KosovaPress reports that, for this reason, the police have set up a static post near the tent.
In the tent, besides the Turkish flag (photograph for this text taken from Jepi Zë), the organizer also placed the Kosovo flag, which has not been damaged in any incident.
