Moldova Opens Embassy in Kazakhstan

Politics

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi will pay an official visit to Kazakhstan from July 1 to 3 at the invitation of his Kazakh counterpart, Murat Nurtleu. The visit aims to boost political dialogue and strengthen economic, trade, and investment ties between the two countries, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

In Astana, Popșoi will meet with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Foreign Minister Nurtleu. A key highlight of the visit will be the official inauguration of Moldova’s embassy in Astana — a move proposed by Popșoi and approved by the Moldovan government in August 2024.

On July 3, Popșoi will travel to Almaty to meet the city's mayor, Darhan Satybaldy, visit a Moldovan-funded enterprise, and hold talks with members of the Moldovan community in Kazakhstan.

Moldova and Kazakhstan established diplomatic relations in 1992, and Kazakhstan opened its embassy in Chișinău in 2020.
