Croatian Women's Network delegation visits Parliament
A delegation from the global Croatian Women's Network visited the Croatian Parliament, where Marijana Petir, Chair of the Agriculture Committee, received them as the Speaker's representative.
The Toronto-based network marks its 10th anniversary with an international conference in Zagreb, CE Report quotes HINA.
The conference, titled "Progress for Women, Progress for the Economy, Realise Your Potential!", will take place at the Westin Hotel on 6 March and bring together around 150 Croatian women from Europe, North and South America, Australia, the United Arab Emirates and China. Panels will address women's roles in diplomacy, politics, business, science, culture, the arts, humanitarian work and the armed forces, both in Croatia and worldwide.
Thirty women will receive awards for outstanding achievements, and Petir discussed women's leadership in politics and the economy, encouraging active participation in decision-making. She praised the Network for enhancing the visibility and empowerment of Croatian women globally over the past decade.
Network President Caroline Spivak described the visit to Parliament and Croatia as an honour, noting the importance of ties to the homeland and the Network's focus on supporting women's professional goals. She highlighted strong interest among young people and families in settling in Croatia.
Petir invited the delegation to engage in projects in cooperation with the Government Office for Croats Abroad. During their five-day visit, the delegation will also visit the Croatian Heritage Foundation in Zagreb and the city of Osijek.
