Eurovision 2026 tickets sell out in minutes
Tickets for the Eurovision Song Contest, which is being held this year in Vienna, sold out in record time, with almost all 90,000 tickets purchased within just a few minutes, organizers announced.
“Tickets for the Grand Final sold out in just 14 minutes, while tickets for all other shows were snapped up within an hour,” the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) said.
In total, nine shows take place during Eurovision week, including two dress rehearsals before each live broadcast, CE Report quotes ATA.
“Any remaining tickets, for example if national delegations do not use all of their allocations, will be resold at a later date,” the EBU added.
“The response has been phenomenal,” Eurovision Director Martin Green said in a statement.
“Seeing every show sell out so quickly is a powerful reminder of what the Eurovision Song Contest represents: joy, unity, and shared experience, at a time when these values are more important than ever,” he added.
The 70th edition of Eurovision in Vienna has been accompanied for months by debates over Israel’s participation, against the backdrop of its two-year military campaign in the Gaza Strip.
Spain, Ireland, Iceland, the Netherlands, and Slovenia have announced that they will boycott this year’s edition of the music show in protest.
A total of 35 countries will participate in the contest. The 15 songs competing in each of the two semi-finals were confirmed yesterday.
In the first semi-final on May 12, Israel will compete for a place in the final alongside songs from Greece, Belgium, Sweden, Croatia, and others.
Germany, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the host country, Austria, automatically qualify for the final on May 16 and do not need to compete in the semi-finals.
