Ukrainian Culture Day Unites Communities in Moldova
The village of Iabloana in Moldova’s Glodeni district hosted the second Ukrainian Culture Day, celebrating Ukrainian traditions, music, and heritage. The event brought together Ukrainians, Moldovans, and guests from across the country, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES
Ukrainian Embassy Counselor Natalia Sirenko called the festival "a bridge of friendship" and praised its role in fostering solidarity and cultural identity.
The program featured folk group parades, a Hora flashmob, children’s workshops, and traditional cuisine. The Interethnic Relations Agency awarded certificates to local organizers for promoting social cohesion.
Ukrainians make up about 6.6% of Moldova’s population and are primarily concentrated in the north and east. Regular cultural events support the preservation of their identity.
