Slovenian mountaineer wins Piolet d'Or

Slovenian climber Aleš Česen has been named a recipient of the prestigious Piolet d'Or award.

He will share the honor with British mountaineer Tom Livingstone, CE Report quotes STA.

The duo successfully summited the 7,952-metre Gasherbrum III peak in Pakistan’s Karakoram range last August.

According to the Alpine Association of Slovenia, the award ceremony will take place in December.
