Second Bulgarian F-16 Block 70 Arrives

Bulgaria received its second F-16 Block 70 fighter jet on Sunday, June 8, according to the Defence Ministry. The combat aircraft, tail number 313, landed at Graf Ignatievo Air Base at 3:26 p.m., where it was welcomed by top military officials, CE Report quotes BTA

This marks the continued integration of the F-16 platform into Bulgaria’s Air Force. Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov reaffirmed the goal to receive all eight jets from the first contract by year-end and reach initial operational capability on schedule.

The first aircraft, a trainer version, arrived in April. Under the 2019 contract, Bulgaria is set to receive a total of 16 F-16 Block 70 jets by the end of 2027.
