AEGEAN and Air China have signed a codeshare agreement, enhancing connectivity between Greece and China while offering passengers greater flexibility and a seamless travel experience.

The two airlines will introduce codeshare flights, enabling passengers to travel on direct services from Athens to Beijing, as well as to Guangzhou via connections through Air China’s network, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.

Travelers will also be able to continue their journey with AEGEAN to popular Greek destinations, including Heraklion, Santorini, Rhodes, and Thessaloniki.

At the same time, passengers traveling from Greece will benefit from improved access to multiple destinations across China through Air China’s extensive network, with the convenience of a single booking and an upgraded travel experience.

The collaboration offers an expanded range of itinerary options, improved connectivity, and a more seamless travel experience.

The partnership is expected to commence in May 2026. Air China currently operates three weekly flights on the Beijing-Athens route and plans to increase frequency to five weekly services during the summer season, further enhancing connectivity between the two countries.

The agreement was signed at Air China’s offices in Rome in the presence of Chief Commercial Officer of AEGEAN Roland Jaggi, and senior executives of Air China.

"This partnership with Air China represents a significant milestone in strengthening our presence in Asia. By expanding our network, we are providing our passengers with greater choice and flexibility, while enhancing connectivity between Greece and China and supporting new opportunities for tourism and bilateral trade," said Jaggi.

Leveraging their membership in the Star Alliance, the two airlines will also explore further opportunities to expand their cooperation across additional routes, aiming to better serve the growing travel demand between Europe and Asia.
