Albania’s tourist accommodation sector welcomed 15.1% more visitors in January compared to the same month last year.

Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports of Albania Blendi Gonxhja emphasized that these figures prove that Albania has successfully transitioned beyond seasonal tourism, CE Report quotes ATA.

“Following a record-breaking 2025 with 12.4 million tourists, Albanian tourism momentum continues into January 2026, with a 15.1% rise in accommodation visitors and a surge in overnight stays,” Gonxhja underlined.

The minister noted that Albania is experiencing surging demand from key European markets, notably Germany, the UK, Italy, France, and Kosovo.

Minister Gonxhja affirmed that this clearly indicates a shift toward sustainable, year-round tourism as a major economic driver.
