Albania's Berat, the "city of a thousand windows" was once again filled with tourists who came to learn more about the history of the museum city.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images on social media showing the large number of tourists in the city, CE Report quotes ATA.

With the increasing number of tourists in the city of a thousand windows, accommodation capacities and infrastructure are expanding daily to make the city not only more accessible but also an unforgettable experience that will bring visitors back. Hotels, guesthouses, signage at heritage sites, reconstruction, and maintenance efforts have all contributed to a continuous rise in visitor numbers.

The "Tabja," the name of the tower at the Berat Castle overlooking the Osum Valley and the city, appears to be crowded with tourists, as seen in the footage, making the most of the sunny day to take photos.

Berat was officially declared a museum city in 1961, with a significant wealth of monuments and diverse values that serve as a testament to its cultural, historical, and artistic heritage—of life and labor—masterfully preserved and passed down through generations of its residents.

Based on zoning and monument classification, the city is divided into three zones: the museum zone, the protected zone, and the free zone.

Today, Berat preserves 210 museum objects, of which 150 are standing structures. Among them, 60 are first-category monuments, while the rest belong to the second category.

The unique architecture of this city and its rich heritage truly make Berat a rare gem.
