For the 25th consecutive day, Albanian citizens gathered in Tirana’s “Skanderbeg” square on the afternoon to protest the proposed Zvërnec tourism project, eventually marching to the Prime Minister’s Office.

Braving heavy rain, protesters relied on banners rather than speeches to voice their demands, which include the resignations of Prime Minister Edi Rama and opposition leader Sali Berisha, system reform and the repeal of the controversial amendments to the Law on Protected Areas, CE Report quotes ATA.

Following the national anthem, protesters reiterated their calls for a “New Albania” and re-stated their five core demands. The crowd is urging the resignation of the Prime Minister alongside the repeal of several controversial laws, including the strategic investments framework, the Mountain Package, and recent amendments to the laws on protected areas and cultural heritage.

Addressing the crowd from an improvised podium, an activist warned that citizens will escalate their demonstrations—even blocking institutions—if leaders persist in maintaining power through corruption and violence.

Another speaker condemned the public lynching of protesters as a throwback to the dark days of communism, praising the public’s resilience.

Following several speeches, organizers urged the crowd to remain in the square despite the rain.

The demonstration concluded with the customary march through the streets of Tirana.
