Trump faces lawsuit over Truth Social

US President Donald Trump has been sued over a paid service offering faster access to his posts on Truth Social, with two media organizations alleging that it gives paying customers preferential access to official government information in violation of the US constitution.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of The Intercept Media and the Freedom of the Press Foundation, according to court documents, CE Report quotes MIA.

Truth Social's parent company, Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), has marketed the service as a business-to-business data feed that delivers Truth Social posts to customers within "milliseconds."

Earlier this week, TMTG's acting chief executive, Kevin McGurn, said Truth Social had already signed up more than 10 customers for the service, most of them companies specializing in high-speed trading on stock and financial markets.

Customers typically pay between $60,000 and $100,000 a month, McGurn said, adding that the company is also in talks with potential customers in areas including artificial intelligence.

Trump routinely uses Truth Social to make major announcements, including on tariffs and military conflicts. Faster access to his posts can give investors an advantage, particularly in automated trading, where fractions of a second can matter.

The plan to sell faster access to posts by Trump and other prominent users through a service called Truth API has drawn criticism in the United States.

The plaintiffs described the model as deeply corrupt and unconstitutional, arguing that it harms them by delaying their access to information, according to the court filing.
