Trump reveals secret flight from Türkiye following NATO summit
U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that he secretly left Türkiye aboard a smaller military aircraft after the NATO summit in July due to a potential threat.
He added that he had followed instructions from the Secret Service and the military, foreign news agencies reported, CE Report quotes STA.
“They wanted me to travel on another flight with the same level of security,” Trump told reporters regarding the instructions from the Secret Service and the military. “I think there was a threat. I didn’t really ask too many questions about it. I receive a lot of threats that you don’t know about. Every important president receives a lot of threats,” he added.
Trump traveled to the NATO summit in Ankara in July aboard a new aircraft he had received as a gift from Qatar.
After the summit, he said he would use the old presidential Air Force One for the return journey.
Many experts at the time believed the decision was primarily due to security limitations of the new aircraft.
