Rome's Leonardo da Vinci airport, locally known as Fiumicino, was voted best airport in Europe in 2024 in the category of hubs with more than 40 million passengers by the Airports Council International (ACI) World for the quality of services offered to travellers, CE Report quotes ANSA.

The 'Giovan Battista Pastine' Ciampino airport in Rome was also recognized as the best in Europe among hubs handling between 2 and 5 million passengers.

In particular, Fiumicino garnered a record 4.61 points out of a maximum of 5 in 2024, ranking first among the 119 European airports surveyed.

In addition to the Best Airport award, it was also the only international hub, together with Singapore, to rank at the top in all the sub-categories surveyed based on passenger feedback, including Airport with the Most Dedicated Staff in Europe, Easiest Airport Journey in Europe, Most Enjoyable Airport in Europe, and Cleanest Airport in Europe.

Fiumicino, which handled some 50 million passengers in 2024, also recorded the highest satisfaction rate among the airports with more than 25 million travellers a year in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas, according to the survey Airport Service Quality (ASQ) drafted by Airports Council International (ACI) World in cooperation with Amadeus, a tech company operating in the travel sector.
