Türkiye won five medals, including two golds, on the fourth day of the 20th Mediterranean Games (Taranto 2026).

National wrestler Ahmet Duman defeated Albania's Zelimkhan Abakarov 4-2 in the 65kg final to claim the gold medal.

Hakan Büyükçıngıl, representing Türkiye in the 125kg category, also defeated Egypt's Abdelrahman Sheyata to become champion.

İsmail Küçüksolak lost to Greece's Georgios Kougiomtsidis in the 86kg final and took the silver medal.

Turkish wrestlers Yasin Yeşil (74kg) and Resul Güne (97kg) won their bronze-medal bouts to secure bronze medals.

Muhammet Karavuş, who won all his matches in the 57kg freestyle category under the Nordic system, had already claimed the championship on Tuesday.

Türkiye therefore won medals in all six men's freestyle weight classes, with three gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

Medal tally rises to 27

Turkish athletes won three gold, one silver and three bronze medals on the fourth day of Taranto 2026.

Türkiye has now increased its overall medal tally to 27 — 13 gold, six silver and eight bronze — and ranks second behind hosts Italy.
