Liverpool brings youth academy to Türkiye

Liverpool FC International Academy, the world-renowned development and youth academy program of English Premier League club Liverpool, will bring its training program to children in Türkiye.

According to a statement from Liverpool, the Liverpool International Football Academy will organize a development program for young footballers aged 5 to 16, helping them learn to play “the Liverpool way.”

The program will give future talented footballers the opportunity to develop according to Liverpool’s coaching methodology. It aims to improve players’ technical, tactical, physical and social skills while teaching them to play in the Liverpool style, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

Türkiye’s passion for football draws attention

Former Liverpool player and Liverpool FC International Academy ambassador Ian Rush said Türkiye has an extremely strong football culture.

“We are very excited to add Liverpool FC International Academy Türkiye to our global network. The aim of our international coaching programs is to provide young players with a top-level experience. Alongside player development, coach education is also an important part of our program. That is why we are bringing our local coaches together with the philosophy and techniques we use at our main academy in Liverpool. Both players and coaches will have the opportunity to develop their skills on and off the pitch and do so the Liverpool way,” Rush said.

Liverpool FC International Academy Türkiye General Manager Selçuk Güler said they were proud to bring the academy to Türkiye.

“We believe this is an exciting opportunity for young players in our country to benefit from the football philosophy of one of the world’s most iconic football clubs. As you know, Liverpool also has a very large fan base in Türkiye. The club’s values strongly resonate with players, coaches and families.
