Toyota dominates early stages at Monte Carlo Rally

Swedish driver Oliver Solberg (Toyota), just 24 years old, is leading the Monte Carlo Rally, the opening round of this year’s World Rally Championship (WRC), after two days of competition, AFP reports.

Solberg maintained his lead after six special stages run in fog and snowfall in the Southern Alps. He is followed by his Toyota teammates Elfyn Evans, 1 minute 8.4 seconds behind, and Sébastien Ogier, the reigning world champion, at 1 minute 14.9 seconds, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.

French driver Adrien Fourmaux and Belgian Thierry Neuville, the 2024 world champion, both driving for Hyundai, round out the top five.

The rally features a total of 17 special stages.
