Moldova's football team narrowly beaten by Romania
Moldova's national football team narrowly lost a friendly match against Romania, with a score of 2-1, held at the National Arena in Bucharest, in front of over 11,000 spectators, on October 9 evening, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.
Romania opened the scoring quickly through Louis Munteanu in the 12th minute, and the lead was doubled before halftime by Ianis Hagi (44th minute). Moldova's only goal came in the 38th minute, following a confusing play in which Romanian goalkeeper Ionut Radu deflected the ball into his own net.
At the end of the match, Moldova's coach said that ‘’the result is less important; what matters is the players' attitude and desire, and in this respect, the team showed progress.’’
Moldova's yellow card was received by Artur Craciun in injury time.
For the team coached by Lilian Popescu, the match in Bucharest served as a useful test ahead of the resumption of the World Cup qualifiers. Moldova's next match will take place on October 14, away against Estonia at the A. Le Coq Arena in Tallinn, starting from 19:00.
