UEFA to discuss Israel’s future in European competitions
The UEFA Executive Committee will hold an extraordinary meeting to evaluate Israel’s future in European competitions, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
This includes both the national team and clubs currently participating in tournaments from the Champions League to the Conference League.
Qatar is leading the petition, which requires a qualified majority to be approved. One of the arguments expected to be used is the current exclusion of Russia from international competitions.
FIFA and UEFA have yet to issue a final statement, so the situation remains unclear.
