Bosnia honors Turkish military attaché for boosting defense cooperation
Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zukan Helez, presented the Gold Plaque of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Brigadier Murat Kul, Military Attaché of the Republic of Türkiye in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in recognition of his outstanding personal commitment and selfless contribution to strengthening cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Türkiye.
The award ceremony was attended by Assistant Minister for International Cooperation Zoran Šajinović, Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Resources, Major General Mirsad Ahmić, as well as other associates of the Minister of Defense, CE Report informs via the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina's official website.
Minister Helez emphasized that Brigadier Murat Kul had proven himself to be a sincere and trusted friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose work has left a strong and lasting mark on the development of defense cooperation between the two countries. He noted that Kul’s contribution to the modernization and strengthening of the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina was immeasurable, and that the results of his efforts are evident through a number of successfully implemented projects of strategic importance.
Helez particularly highlighted the delivery of four KIRPI II MRAP armored vehicles with logistical support, the provision of flight training for members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Türkiye through a program that will train a total of 60 pilots over a ten-year period, the donation of the KANGAL anti-drone system, as well as Brigadier Kul’s continuous engagement in facilitating the donation of Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicles.
“I am confident that we will soon see Bayraktar TB2 drones become part of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will represent an important step in the further modernization and enhancement of our defense capabilities,” Minister Helez said.
“I would also like to thank Brigadier Kul for his support of future projects, including the delivery of an additional nine KIRPI II vehicles, Mini UAV systems, the procurement of ambulances, and equipment for protection against unmanned threats. Bosnia and Herzegovina has a sincere friend in Brigadier Murat Kul, and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina have a reliable partner who has made an immeasurable contribution to their development, equipment, and modernization through his dedicated work. For this, we owe him special gratitude and respect,” Helez added.
In his remarks, Brigadier Kul stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a special country and that serving as a military attaché in the country has been a unique opportunity to contribute to the future development of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
