Bulgarian embassy vehicles set on fire in Skopje, suspect arrested

Immediately after the report of a fire involving two official vehicles owned by the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Skopje on 15 June 2026 at 12:13 p.m., SVR Skopje undertook intensive measures and activities to solve the case and locate the perpetrator.

As part of the actions taken, within a short period of time, the person reasonably suspected of committing the act was identified and located, CE Report informs via the Ministry of Interior of North Macedonia's official website.

The individual is I.D. (44) from Skopje, who has been deprived of liberty and detained at a police station.

During the investigative actions, the clothing worn by the suspect at the time the offense was committed was also found.

In coordination with the competent public prosecutor, measures and activities are being undertaken to fully clarify the case, after which an appropriate criminal complaint will be filed against the individual under an expedited procedure.
