Arteta calls Arsenal’s performance “dominant” despite frustrating result
The derby of the 5th round of the Premier League between Arsenal and Manchester City in London ended in a 1-1 draw.
With 11 men behind the halfway line after Erling Haaland’s goal and an excellent tactical approach, City managed to secure a point — a result that did not satisfy the home coach, Mikel Arteta:
“I am very proud of my team and the way we played. We dominated against Manchester City, but the final result leaves me disappointed. It was so unfair that we conceded that goal. After that, we dominated the match again and managed to equalize. I am very pleased with the reaction.”
On the other hand, Pep Guardiola spoke about the defensive tactics and admitted: “At the moment, Arsenal are the better side, so sometimes it happens that we play so deep. It’s okay, once every ten years isn’t so bad, right? I have to prove to myself that we can also play with this approach. We are a team in a transitional period.”
