Grigor Dimitrov has suffered a partial tear of his right pectoralis major muscle, his manager confirmed to TennisKafe. The injury occurred during his fourth-round Wimbledon match against world No. 1 Jannik Sinner, with Dimitrov leading 6–3, 7–5, 2–2 before he was forced to retire, CE Report quotes BTA
The 34-year-old Bulgarian will not need surgery and is expected to recover in a few weeks through rehabilitation. While he will miss upcoming tournaments in Bastad, Toronto, and Cincinnati, there’s hope he could return in time for the US Open starting August 24.
