Cristian Wins First WTA Title in Puerto Vallarta

Romanian tennis player Jaqueline Cristian claimed her first WTA 125 title in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, on Sunday, defeating Czech Linda Fruhvirtova 7-5, 6-4 in the final. The match lasted 2 hours and 13 minutes, with Cristian securing both sets with a break. Fruhvirtova struggled with 9 double faults during the match, CE Report quotes Agerpres

Cristian, the top seed and world No. 72, earned USD 15,500 and 125 WTA points for the victory. The win also propelled her to a career-high No. 57 ranking. This marks a major milestone for Cristian, who had previously reached three WTA 250 finals.
